how durable are the four" Skylights" and what are they made of? How hail resistant is this shed??

Asked by: Jeda

The skylights are made of flexible plastic (not clear). These should be able to withstand hail. The shed is made of a soft pliable plastic. So it should blot the pounding from hail. We take non had whatsoever hail damage. However, the construction is non very rigid. I suggest that you closely inspect an assembled version at the distributor's store. Cheque out how the plastic floor is fastened the base (which you need to provide). Download and inspect the assembly instructions. Also, check the walls. Note that the wall panels are held together using large plastic screws. I added structural lumber to add some rigidity, particularly the floor. You might be meliorate off paying more for a stronger shed.

Craftsman Garden Shed - Peppercorn Trim - 7-ft Fifty x 7-ft W - Gable - Resin is rated 3.ix out of five by 45.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Horrible Instructions! The instructions were horrible! Very unclear Instructions which took a lot of guess work on which style the part should go and having to disengage what was washed and restart over. Packaging of parts were not accurately marked or marked at all then took gauge piece of work to figure out which function was correct. The instructions on the roof construction turned out to exist completely unlike so how in the end we had to put it upwards to become all the pieces to connect properly. The window panes for the doors were no where to be found. Afterward all that it is a prissy sturdy shed that nosotros are hoping will last us for many years at the lake.

Rated 5 out of 5 past from Not hard to build at all!!!! I recently purchased a shed. I am not that handy but every bit I read the instructions it didn't seem that difficult to build. As long as yous take your time and read the instructions as well as use a piffling common sense y'all will have no problem. It does say to yous is to people for safety sake only I had no problems. I had to apply a stride ladder to put the roof on just no issues. Just don't rush through the build. It took me iii hours to build. I did have constructed level platform to work on..... A level surface is a must. I would take no bug or issues recommending this product.

Rated 5 out of v by from Bang-up looking, quality-made shed I bought this two weeks agone on auction for $799. I read reviews before buying and paid close attending to the instructions - nevertheless had to correct a few things along the mode. All panels are labelled, screws/bolts come in bags with printed labels, and the manual indicates the pieces in each labelled bag, only the instructions reference the items as 'NN' for case, which you would take to go dorsum and figure out which bag they are in. Non bad when you get used to it. I had to apply a shim to go the 2 longer side panels locked in place... footing was level. All other panels were fine. The bottom tabs didnt seem to "snap" like the instructions said, only are in identify just fine. Sliding the roof panel tabs in place took some strength with a prophylactic mallet (as the instructions said). The niggling power cord door is a nice impact (see moving picture). I did the pre-assembly commencement a cpl days before the build - helped offset the long length of time if doing it all at one time, especially in the +xxx degree conditions. Using a power drill helped with the many screws going in, particularly for the roof supports. But most screws are better with screwdriver to avert damage. All in all, very happy with the product, lots of natural light with the iv sunlights and door windows.

Rated 1 out of v by from Blew Autonomously in the Wind Was happy with it for a year, seemed sturdy enough and worked for what we needed. 1 bad wind storm though and everything blew apart. Sucks to spend skillful money on a shed for information technology to accident apart in the air current.

Rated four out of v by from Fix by myself! I really similar my new 7x7 shed! I was hesitant to try setting up by myself, especially putting the roof panels on, but information technology went much easier than I imagined. A couple tips: The base must exist solid on the ground and if in that location is whatever play, the panels won't 'click' into place as you push down and slide them. I used 18"x18" cement slabs on a level area with some gravel/sand in betwixt the leftover 1" spaces between them. Don't do this. I can really feel these spaces nether the flooring when I'm in the shed. Not a big bargain just have your slabs touch for a better experience inside. Also, sweep your base free of grit before laying the floor on acme so no grit/crisis audio when walking inside the completed shed flooring. For the roof panels, I institute that the panels would sit downwardly far enough just to get the screw started (from inside the shed) and information technology would literally suck the roof panel down and into identify as it was screwed in. I was very happy that it was this easy! Utilize a clench to concord the outside edge of the roof console down while you go within and start scewing it down into identify. I used some black spray cream inside where any daylight was showing (except the screen vents of grade) and at present I accept a waterproof, bug proof storage shed!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Alert - READ BEFORE BUYING!!! Where to brainstorm....I have assembled many things in my life of more complexity just this CRAFTSMAN Shed takes the prize. Afterward carefully reading the instructions and understanding the concept, which is easy in theory, we set out panel by console ensuring all corners are perfectly squared but of grade they never ended upwards squared which began our road to turmoil. Nosotros took the shed autonomously several times and used different platforms to see if this could be rectified just no success and seems it might take been a warped flooring platform. Once the walls were all ready-upwardly and the holes for the PLASTIC fasteners (aye you read correctly, PLASTIC fasteners) were lined up perfectly to secure wall panels togethers, gaps in the walls were noticed which, of grade lead to other issues with the roof panels and front and back headers which don't fifty-fifty marshal properly leaving noticeable gaps. Don't become me started with the metal roof truss equally none of the pre-drilled holes in the plastic roof panels lined up to properly secure to the metal roof truss. An exorbitant amount of jerry-rigging and manipulating of the shed (pushing on walls, removing pieces, brut force…) to brand the holes line up caused many hours of frustration and we are not talking about slightly off merely around 1 inches to the right/left of the metallic roof truss. We finally managed to become alignment merely not 100% convinced that we secured all the screws exactly where they should be due to the poor construction and cheapness of this production. Even the door handles were issues just at this indicate it was to exist expected as the entirety of the project was a nightmare and wouldn't wish this shed on my worse enemy. The concluding test due to the lack of proper alignment volition exist to see how waterproof this product really is and with our luck, it will leak like a sieve…more to follow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weak crappy resin shed I have endemic this just I year now and the corners are cracking so much that on two of the corners I can actually meet inside a bit. Definitely don't appreciate spending 750 for a shed to concluding a twelvemonth. A friend has a rubbermade shed and had information technology for 10 years now I should have gone with them.
